Thank you for showing interest in Sullington Windmills WI by clicking on our page!
The past two years have been a challenge for all of us but we managed to keep our members connected by using our friend Zoom and delivering newsletters either electronically or by hand to those not connect to the internet. There were small gifts and activities, telephone calls and group walks when permitted.
We were delighted to welcome 6 new members during the lockdown period and are now pleased that they have been able to meet other members in person.
We will continue to do what it takes to keep our members safe but hope that our face-to-face meetings will continue uninterrupted from now on.
Erika Brichta, President
NEXT MEETING: September 21st at 7.30pm at Sullington Parish Hall – Talk: ‘Kirtles, Corsets and Curtains’.
About our meetings
Our Institute was established in October 1969 and we have a membership of around 60 ladies, with a good range of ages and interests. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday evening each month (2nd Wednesday in December). Meetings are held at the Parish Hall, Thakeham Road, Storrington RH20 3PP at 7.30pm.
Should you be tempted to take the plunge and visit us, you will be assured of a very warm welcome. There is plenty of off-street parking, disabled access, plus the hall has a hearing loop and we use a microphone at meetings.
**** There is NO additional charge for members to attend meetings, and non-members are welcome to join us for three meetings at NO cost ****
The usual format of meetings is business/notices etc., then a guest speaker or demonstrator, followed by refreshments and social time and the inevitable WI raffle! We also run social and fundraising events throughout the year. These have included wine-tasting and skittles evenings, a games night, visits to local places of interest, luncheons and bring-and-buy sales tables.
There are monthly meetings of Walking and Science Groups and a weekly Table Tennis group. In addition the West Sussex Federation of WIs offers a varied programme of entertainment and educational activities throughout the year.
Currently the annual subscription is £44 however, you are welcome to visit us on up to three occasions at no cost.
We would love to see you at one of our meetings, why not give us a try. You can just turn up or let us know in advance that you are coming by contacting our President, Erika Brichta, email@example.com Tel: 01903 742 039, or our Secretary, Sarah Lockerbie, firstname.lastname@example.org
